While driving around the Keller area and looking at all the downed branches that the last snow storm caused, not to mention all the trees we are having to take down because of safety issues, we can't help but be reminded what an impact trees have on our communities. I can't remember the last time we had three snow related events so close together in Texas...

It re-energizes us in the fact that we try to recycle all materials and not fill up our overused landfills. Some of these trees are going to homes to help keep families warm and some go to woodworkers so that they can create wonderful furniture, gifts and other useful items.

The next time you need to have a tree removed from your yard consider planting one or more in its place! Some interesting facts from our friends at The Arbor Day Foundation:

Cities without tree become “heat islands”. Did you know 100 million additional mature trees in U.S. cities could save $2 billion per year in energy costs?

Shade trees planted east and west of your home could cut cooling costs by 15-35%.

Street trees help cool the concrete sidewalks and streets and can cool the entire neighborhood. We all know how hot these North Texas summers can be.

A windbreaker row of trees can help lower heating bills by 10-20%.

Not to mention trees provide shelter and food for all sorts of wildlife!

TDA License No: 0527083

We are now licensed to apply restricted use and state-limited use pesticides and regulated herbicides! This means better results for you and a larger commitment to keeping our environment safe. There is more required of licensed applicators by the Texas Department of Agriculture: continuing education, subject to site inspections, equipment inspections and thorough record keeping to name a few of them.

For our organic friends we will still be applying all natural alternatives! This just expands our possibilities to meet the demands of other clients head on.
